Speaking of Memorial Day weekend, what are your plans? Be sure to take photos and tweet them I tell you how much #BabyBlake loves her new Kids Preferred Guess How Much I Love You: Nutbrown Hare Stick Rattle… One of my favorite books that I love reading to the kids is Guess How Much I Love You! Now they have an entire new line of play accessories for the kids. Not to mention that the weather the past few days, especially yesterday, has been horrendous! If this humidity–which is at 100%–is any indication of how the summer months will be, then I have already made the executive decision to let my hair flow freely I am going to have to embrace my crazy curls! Expect to see some photos of the curls next weekend for Memorial Day at the beach with the boys! We are going to Catalina Beach Club, one of our favorite go-to summer destination the boys are so excited to see their friends from all over that they haven’t seen all year, and there is no doubt in my mind that there will be lots of laughs, hugs and, of course, beach baseball! While the boys are in camp every day this summer, I plan on spending a lot of time down at the beach with Baby Blake, delving into as many good books as I can get my hands on! Blake is seriously such a pleasure to be around she is starting to smile, coo, and wiggle so much and she truly makes my heart melt! I know she will be a girl after my own heart and love the beach and reading as much as her mom does. This weekend really could not have come soon enough this past week has been a whirlwind to say the least, and I definitely need to catch up on my MTOs (mommy-time-outs). This year Oliver told me that he loves me soooooooooo much that he just wants to hug me forever (makes my heart melt)! Nothing I love more than reading their cards that they write. The boys spoiled me with allowing me to “sleep in” and breakfast in bed. We got to see my mom and mother in law out on Long Island. We had a beautiful walk it really felt like summer out. Last Sunday was absolutely #FabULyss I had some mommy-and-me time with Baby Blake Harper, and dressed her in her brand new adorable Burberry sun dress. But there are parties happening clear through the weekend, so you can get as much or as little mileage of that topical getup as your school night schedule allows at the best Purim parties in NYC.Happy Saturday, DivaMoms! Wow, where did this week go?! I can’t believe Mother’s Day was already last weekend. This year, Purim proper falls on squarely in the middle of the week on Wednesday, March 20 - a time not typically associated with revelry. And since Queen Esther had to conceal her Jewish identity, it doesn’t hurt to dress up in a costume, either.

Readings from the book of Esther anchor many fêtes.

The traditions are simple: It’s a mitzvah, Hebrew for a godly commandment, for Jewish folks to get drunk on Purim. Now, we honor the queen at joyful festivities in the late winter/early spring each year. Purim is the celebration of Esther, a Jewish queen from the Bible who saved countless lives when she thwarted her evil husband’s plot to kill all the Jewish people in the land. Only Purim truly does right by the classic combination of disguising and imbibing. Patrick’s Day tries, too, bringing even more booze, but further dwindling your dress up options to sexy leprechaun, beer maid, or bishop. Halloween comes close, but its attendant alcohol acts more as liquid courage for your “sexy” whatever costume than a cherished tradition. Most of us have precious few reasons to play dress up and get blotto in public at the same time.
